Position Summary:

The Golf Pro Shop Staff will be responsible for regularly assisting and registering customers for play. The Golf Pro Shop Staff will schedule tee times, process sales of merchandise, season passes and daily rounds, receive player fees, and frequently communicate and collaborate with Golf Rangers.

This position is part time, seasonal, and non-exempt according to the Fair Labor Standards Act and the NYS Department of Labor rules and regulations.  The workweek includes flexible schedules depending on the workload, with some evening, weekend and holiday hours as needed.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide welcoming “first contact” with all golfers to ensure they have an enjoyable experience.
  • Assists and registers customers for play and help keep orderly flow of play at 1st
  • Schedules tee times.
  • Processes sales of merchandise, season passes and daily rounds and receives player fees.
  • Handles daily reconciliation of cash register receipts.
  • Oversees tournament administration.
  • Responsible for daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Communicates and collaborates with Golf Rangers for status reports and emergencies.
  • Light maintenance and cleaning of the golf pro shop on a daily basis.
  • Communicates with Golf Course Manager on merchandise stock levels/ outs and golfer requests.
  • Ensures golf cart rentals are fueled and cleaned daily.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Must be available to work a varied schedule with possible evening, weekend and holiday hours
  • Highly motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work closely with other staff members and interact in a friendly and courteous manner with the public
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and tact
  • Must be honest and reliable
  • Must show aptitude for math, problem-solving and computer skills

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily indoor work, but may work outside moving golf carts before/after customer use
  • Job duties may require an employee to bend, reach, stoop, sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time as well as lift and/or move heavy objects at times up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to adapt to ever changing resources and limited budget
