Bus wrap promotes Olmsted Parks

THE BUFFALO OLMSTED PARKS CONSERVANCY WILL GET SOME EXTRA EXPOSURE THIS SUMMER THROUGH A NEW CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP. A CUSTOMIZED WRAPPED BUS PROMOTING THE PARKS HAD ITS DEBUT JUNE 15 AT THE JP MORGAN CORPORATE CHALLENGE IN DELAWARE PARK.

Provided by We Care Transportation and sponsored by Bank of America, the bus will travel the streets of Buffalo, primarily around the neighborhoods surrounding Delaware Park. It’s part of a three-year awareness effort to increase visibility of the Olmsted Conservancy and the Olmsted parks in the region and reinforce the importance of free, recreational green spaces available for the Western New York community. Delaware Park’s Hoyt Lake fountain revived and running

AS ANOTHER SIGN THAT SUMMER IS ON THE HORIZON, THE FOUNTAIN IN HOYT LAKE AT DELAWARE PARK IS BACK IN ACTION.

The ornamental feature – with a 50-foot-tall central jet spray – had been a mainstay on the lake going back to the late 19th century. A fountain was reintroduced there as a scenic complement about five years ago. Read More

Hoyt Lake fountain returns to Delaware Park

THE BUFFALO OLMSTED PARKS CONSERVANCY HAS REINSTALLED THE HOYT LAKE FOUNTAIN.

“Since last year, the Conservancy has worked with a number of special partners to help restore and resituate the fountain in Hoyt Lake,” said Executive Director Stephanie Crockatt. “The fountain had seized both mechanically and electrically, so the entire mechanism with its electrical conduit had to be carefully lifted out of the lake, cleaned, re-calibrated, re-wired and now lowered back into the water. We have many to thank, as this was literally a heavy lift.”
