INCLUSIVITY, EQUITY, POSITIVITY AND GRATITUDE HAVE BEEN THE WORDS OF THE WEEK HERE AT THE CONSERVANCY.

June 18th, 19th, and 21st are significant days for us.

Yesterday, would have been the 40th Corporate Challenge in Delaware Park. While there was a perfect  storm to recover from last year, the turf  has   been  restored!  And  even  though  this   iconic  race  did  not   occur  this  year, an amazing  partnership  commitment  from    JP  Morgan   Chase   was   bestowed   on   the  Conservancy  with a wonderful  charitable  gift.  We are grateful.

Today,  June 19th  is  Juneteenth,  and  although  the    annual   festival  and  celebration  traditional  to  MLK Jr. Park  and the Masten District will not take place live,  it  is  taking place virtually and deserves everyone’s support. This   park   community  has  been  a  focus  of  the  Conservancy, City and many partners like the State of New York and BlueCross  BlueShield  of  Western  New York to  restore the historic basin and splash pad, repair the  greenhouse complex, renovate the Casino, enhance the MLK Monument and  Plaza, build  a  new  KaBoom  playground  and  much  more. We are grateful.

This weekend marks the first official weekend of summer, and on Sunday, we celebrate a day we call FLOmingo day. This year in a partnership with the Buffalo Maritime  Center, new FLOATmingo paddle    boats will adorn the lake in a whimsical, positive note to remind us we are Buffalo Strong. We are grateful.

Thank you for respecting and caring for your parks as much as we do. Please be responsible, stay safe, and be courteous to one another during these challenging times.
